Shedding Snake Skins

Shalom and Welcome!

Shedding snake skins…

Snake Pits…And snake skins…

He saved me from the snake pits that the enemy of my soul threw me in as a very young child. Those snake pits came in the way of domestic abuse including  “sibling rivalry” and child sexual molestation.

In that snake pit of hell, I learned the language of the snake that sometimes sounded harsh and condemning, at other times reasonable and convincing.  I also learned the snake charmers enabling lingo that kept some of the painful bites at bay. charmers.  Some of the snake dialects sounds like thissssssss

don’t talk, don’t think, don’t feel don’t trust…..and for goodness sakes, do not set any boundaries and for heaven’s sake do NOT question anyone in authority…

father, mother, teacher, pastor, senator, governor, scout leader, you get the picture.

The snake skins that need to be shed are the false beliefs, lies, the false self, the survival roles developed in order to survive a dysfunctional unhealthy, unloving home environment in one’s vulnerable growing up years.

I grew up to become a hopeless dope fiend. Lost, alone, full of fear, shame, self-loathing, drugs, and alcohol, and serial relationships was my way to cope, to numb out.  The trauma of childhood abuse set me on a path of self-destruction.

This blog is all about getting set free, it is a way out of the snake pits and sets a person on a journey to the heart of The Father and….shedding snake skins…

By sharing my experience, strength, and hope I aim to weave together a mixture of Torah portions, education, and personal experiences.  As a trauma survivor and former addict, I know the shame, pain and utter hopelessness one feels after childhood abuse. My years working in the field of addiction treatment equips me with a viewpoint of a professional. As a radio show host, I hope to use those skills to bring to you an audio message and worship music that will bring soothing comfort to your soul…and draw you to the Father’s heart…

Shalom and welcome!
